The Mi-171A2 is developed based on Mi-171Sh helicopter equipped with VK-2500PS-03s powerplants. Using advanced KBO-17 avionics systems from Kret which enhanced the cockpit display using glass display.

The Mil Mi-171A2 is facing Airbus Helicopter EC225 and Sikorsky S-92.
